What is the real difference between a minor and major service on an Infiniti?

My Infiniti Q50 just crossed sixty thousand kilometres, and my service reminder says it is time for a major service. Last year I paid for a minor one and thought that was all it needed, so now I am confused about what changed. The advisor only said "this one is bigger" and quoted a price that was almost three times higher. I work near Musaffah, and a colleague told me about a Professional Infiniti major and minor services in Musaffah page he found, but I could not tell from it what is actually included at each stage. That is what I want to understand. From what I know, a minor service is the oil, the oil filter and a general check, while a major one adds things like air filters, spark plugs, brake fluid and a deeper inspection. Is that right, or does it vary? How do I know which one my car needs, is it by kilometres, by time or by what the service book says? Can I skip a major service if the car drives fine? Also, is it normal for a workshop to add extra jobs on top of the quoted package, and how do I tell a real need from an upsell? Does an independent workshop use the same parts as the dealer, and will my warranty stay valid? If your Infiniti went through a major service lately, please tell me what was included, what you paid, and if the car felt different afterwards. Easy answers help me most.
